I am very proud and I consider it a privilege to represent my country in the 2012 Miss World Pageant. Winning the Miss Sri Lanka title has helped me to continue to pursue my passion for social work and I am hoping to continue my services and help the needy.

My important services include providing sanitary equipment to the patients in the rural areas of Sri Lanka, where equipment is lacking and funding scarce. Through fund raising activities we raise vital resources which go along way.
My other work includes motivating school students in my home village, along with a team of friends, to give them support and encouragement in their academic studies, passing on our knowledge to them.

Within the schools, I am also involved in creating awareness amongst the students on drug addiction issues, and the dangers of illicit substances. I see it as an important part of a child’s education to be aware of the dangers before it is too late.

I truly believe that by being a part of the Miss World Competition, I have and will be able to pursue my social work to an even greater extent. The ways in which I have been able to help the people in my country have been very rewarding, and will continue to be an important experience within my life.
